I repeated pick up a P2004 lawmaking on my 2007 Trek. Inverse the solenoid and the PCM, (yeah I know. have to do a meliorate task on the troubleshooting end.) I finally disconnected the battery leads, continued the ii via a jumper to articulate the capacitance on the circuit. Code goes a way for a few days but comes dorsum. I am at my wits end. Whatever suggestions?

Solenoid? It'due south a open/closed actuator on the back of the intake. Y'all should be able to twist it and motion both arms freely, shouldn't hang-up anywhere in the travel. Information technology's a spring closed then when you lot let get it'll snap back airtight. If information technology feels like it has a pasty spot, you can take the intake off and clean information technology. Mine had carbon deposits on it, order the intake gaskets considering they'll need replaced, and the coolant crossover tube too. The actuator has an end switch in it that tells the pcm that it's open/closed so if it'southward moving freely it could exist a wire/connector result.

Thank. I concluded up removing the manifold to become to the solenoid. It so happens the aftermarket solenoid i purchased was defective. Installed a Ford factory part and problem solved. (Note to cocky....... NEVER PURCHASE DORMAN AFTERMARKET PARTS!!!)
