Register or Unregister ActiveX DLL or OCX Files

Sometimes "application extension" files (.DLL or .OCX) must be manually registered to properly support functions in a program such as CTI Navigator. To register an ActiveX command (dll or ocx) file in Windows Vista, 7, viii.1 or 10:

1. Open the Windows Control Prompt
   • in Windows Vista or seven :
     • Select Start > All Programs > Accessories
     • Correct-click on "Control Prompt" in the Accessories
     • Click " Run as Administrator "
   • in Windows eight.1:
     • Open the "Quick Link" menu (by holding down the Windows 8 logo cardinal and pressing the 10 key)
     • Select "Command Prompt (Admin)"
     • Select "Yes" to permit changes
   • in Windows ten :
     • Right-click on the Start icon
     • Select "Command Prompt (Admin)"
2. To register a dll or ocx Windows Organisation file in a 32-chip version (older) of Windows (Vista, 7, 8.1, or 10),
   • Type cd\  [then press Enter]
   • Go to pace 5 below
3. To register a 32-fleck dll or ocx Windows System file in a 64-flake version of Windows (10, 8.one, vii, or Vista),
   • Type cd \Windows\SysWOW64  [then press Enter]   {see notation 1 below}
   • Go to stride 5 below
4. To register a dll file in CTI Navigator
   • in a 32-flake version of Windows, type cd\Program Files\Cti Navigator  [then press Enter]
   • in a 64-flake version of Windows, type cd\Plan Files (x86)\Cti Navigator  [then printing Enter]
5. Type regSvr32 {fileName.dll}   [or regSvr32 {fileName.ocx} every bit appropriate] - encounter notation 2 below
   • For case,
     • to register the Microsoft "msi.dll" file in the Windows\Organisation32 folder of a 32-bit version of Windows, type cd\ and press ENTER; then type regsvr32 msi.dll  and press ENTER;

6. A bulletin indicating "DllRegisterServer in... succeeded" should announced.

Note 1: In a 64-chip version of Windows, 32-bit versions of Windows system files and DLL libraries (such as used past CTI Navigator) are in the "Windows\SysWOW64" folder, and 64-bit versions of Windows system files and DLL libraries are in the "Windows\System32" folder. In a 32-scrap version of Windows, the Windows organization files and DLLs are in the "Windows\System32" folder (and there is no SysWOW64 folder).

Note 2: Substitute the proper name of the file to be registered for "fileName" and do not type the {} braces. Also, identify ane space between regsvr32 and the fileName. See format used in examples.

To un-register a 32-bit Windows system file and then re-register it in a version of Windows without User Account Control  (prior to Vista) or with UAC turned off (in a 32-chip version of  Windows Vista, 7, or viii):

1. Select Start > Run (or in Windows eight, 7 or Vista press the Windows logo key + R primal )

1. Open up the Windows Control Panel (or in Internet Explorer select Tools)
2. Select Net Options
3. Click the Security tab
4. Select Trusted Sites
5. Click Sites push > un -check "Require server verification (https:)... "
6. Click in the "Add this website to the zone" box and blazon ctimls.com
7. Click the Add together button
8. Click the close push button.

To restrict running possibly dangerous ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer:
